The Homestead City Committee of the Whole voted Tuesday to place a capital improvement project to upgrade court lighting at JD Red Park on the City Council agenda for further consideration.
An unidentified meeting chair introduced the item as "car number 48 42, capital improvement project, JD Red Park, court lighting upgrade" and asked whether there were objections to waiving the staff report for the continuation of the lighting project. "Are there any objections to waiving the staff report for the, continuation of, this lighting project?" the chair asked on the dais. Council members did not object on the record.
Councilwoman Avila moved to place the item on the next council agenda; Councilman Roth seconded the motion. The committee called for the question and voiced "Aye;" no opposition was recorded on the transcript.
The chair invited questions and public comment on the project and asked if anyone online or in the audience wished to speak; no public comments were recorded. With the motion approved, the lighting upgrade will appear on the City Council agenda for a future meeting where full council consideration and any formal vote will occur.
Meeting details: the motion to place the project was made by Councilwoman Avila and seconded by Councilman Roth; the committee approved the placement by voice vote.
