Board approves $14,200 architectural design work to fix Red River High ADA ramp

"There was an addition on the building or some work done in 1993, which would have required that they bring it up to code to the newer standard in 1991, and it wasn't done at that time. And so it was cited," Bambach said, describing the audit finding and the administrative recommendation that the design work be paid from the building fund to keep the general fund intact.
Trustees asked detailed procurement and contract questions. Mister Cleven raised concerns about indemnification language, limited liability tied only to fees, payment‑for‑termination language, and inconsistencies in rate years. Bambach acknowledged the points and said legal review had not yet occurred; administrators said the board could approve the funding amount and legal staff would finalize contract terms.
Mister Cleven moved to approve the proposal up to $14,200 to be paid from the building fund; Mister Anderson seconded. The board took a roll‑call vote and recorded nine yes votes, zero no votes; the motion passed.
The board did not report a precise seat loss figure from the ramp reconfiguration but was told the work could be completed following bid and construction timelines so the ramp would be remedied before the next school year.
