Plan commission re-elects officers; confirms liaison to county plan commission

The Angola City Plan Commission on Jan. 12 re-elected Susan Ralston as president and selected a commissioner recorded only as Jack for vice president, while planner Grace Essman will serve as the commission’s secretary for 2026.

During the meeting, the commission approved the board minutes for December by voice vote after a motion and second. Susan Ralston accepted the presidency, saying, “I will.” A commissioner moved and another seconded Jack’s nomination for vice president; Jack accepted the nomination, replying, “Yes.” Grace Essman, a staff member, was nominated and approved to serve as secretary.

Staff also told commissioners that Jeff Peters, who was unable to attend, asked to continue as the commission’s liaison to the County Plan Commission; the commission agreed to reappoint him by consensus.

The actions were routine and taken by voice votes with no recorded opposing votes. No contested nominations or roll-call tallies were recorded in the minutes.

The commission will carry these officer roles into its upcoming 2026 calendar and business, including the planned Unified Development Ordinance review and other items listed in the packet.

The meeting was convened Jan. 12, 2026, and adjourned after the listed business.
