Board approves personnel items after executive session; one hire pending certification

After meeting in executive session to discuss personnel, the Poteau Public Schools board returned to open session and approved personnel items 18, 19, 20 and 21. The motion to approve these items was moved and seconded and carried by roll call. The board noted that hire number 20 (Brooke Burgess for the PKS sixth-grade math teacher position) is pending certification and the approval reflects that pending status.
The board stated no votes were taken while in executive session and affirmed no other matters were discussed during the closed session. The personnel approvals were taken in open session following the return; any certification or pending paperwork will be satisfied before finalization of the hire.
