Cynthia Plemons, marketing and communications director for the East Tennessee Human Resource Agency (EFRA), briefed the Roane County Commission on EFRA services and the agency’s footprint in the county.
Plemons told commissioners EFRA operates public transportation and 43 additional programs across 16 counties in East Tennessee; she said EFRA served 5,103 individuals in Roane County last fiscal year, provided 66,707 units of service, and invested $2,045,462 into Roane County.
"That comes to a total of $2,045,462 invested into Roane County, Tennessee," Plemons said, and she invited commissioners and residents to visit efra.org to find program information and emergency-assistance forms.
Plemons emphasized that EFRA can assist with one-time emergency payments for rent, mortgage, electric and water bills, and noted alternatives for residents who need help but lack web access. Commissioners thanked EFRA for keeping costs down for county residents and discussed whether the county website could link to EFRA resources.
Plemons closed by offering to provide additional presentations and to meet with county groups to explain EFRA programs in more detail.
