Grant County procurement staff on Jan. 6 presented recommendations for multiple contracts and purchases slated for the commissioners' regular meeting.
For RFP 2602 (conference center management), the evaluation committee recommended awarding the contract to the Chamber of Commerce, the sole respondent. Commissioners asked that the contract require regular reporting to the commission — staff said the frequency (monthly or quarterly) can be specified in the agreement and the chamber agreed to provide reports.
For RFP 2603 (detainee medical services), the evaluation committee reviewed proposals and recommended awarding the contract to Thrive Medical Services, LLC based on committee scoring; staff attached evaluation results to the recommendation. The recommendation was presented for commissioner consideration at the upcoming Thursday meeting.
Manager's staff also presented a proposed Tyrone Volunteer Fire Rescue purchase of a 3,000-gallon pumper-tender for $600,000, funded with grant money and procured via an existing CES contract. The manager said Cliff Hila received a new tender the previous day and commissioners would have an opportunity to inspect apparatus at the Thursday meeting.
No formal awards or purchases were recorded as completed during the work session; staff presented recommendations and asked that the items be placed on the Thursday consent or regular agenda for formal action.
