Parliamentarian Victor Thomas moved the ordinance and Commissioner Stefan Jones seconded the motion. Thomas told colleagues he supported the Department of Public Works' effort to expand services in the parish; the motion then passed on final passage by a 12–0 vote.
The measure was read as part of the ordinances for final passage without public speakers during the earlier public hearing. Administration said the acquisition is intended to improve public-works service delivery in the affected district.
Next steps: Administration will coordinate property-interest paperwork and implement the acquisition tasks as directed by the Department of Public Works.
