On Jan. 5, 2026, Dalton’s mayor and council authorized a contract with Med Investors Development LLC for TexCare, a virtual health service that provides 24/7 access to medical providers via text, phone and video for employees and enrolled dependents.
Halima from human resources said the TexCare service is included in the 2026 health insurance budget and will be provided at no cost to employees. Council members asked clarifying questions about eligibility and limits; staff said all employees enrolled in the city's 2026 health insurance plan and their dependents are eligible with no per-use limit.
City staff asked that the contract be executed in Halima’s name; the council moved to approve and authorize Halima to sign the agreement and recorded an affirmative vote.
The contract was reviewed by the city attorney, according to staff; no contract value or vendor fee detail was read into the record beyond the statement that the cost is already accounted for in the adopted 2026 budget.
