The Warrick County Area Planning Commission voted Jan. 12 to recommend approval of rezoning application PC‑R‑25‑11, a request from Mark and Jamie Greer to reclassify roughly 0.806 acres on the west side of Cary Road from C‑3 (highway commercial) to agricultural.
Staff told the commission the change addresses an existing single‑family dwelling and aligns with the comprehensive plan’s rural communities designation; staff confirmed mailed notice to adjacent property owners. Applicant Mark Greer said the rezoning is needed to correct property records and to allow a current survey and related house work.
Members asked procedural questions about access and floodplain areas; no members of the public spoke in opposition. After discussion the APC approved a motion to recommend the rezoning to the Warrick County Commissioners and scheduled the county hearing for Feb. 9 at 4:00 p.m. in this room.
The APC’s recommendation will be advisory to the County Commissioners, who retain final approval authority.
