Superintendent McCutchen outlines First Friday Focus schedule, 2026–27 calendar progress and ParentSquare reminder

Becky McCutchen, superintendent of Waxahachie Independent School District, used the January First Friday Focus to update families on upcoming events, district operations and communications.
She invited the public to the next in-person First Friday Focus on Friday, Feb. 6, from 8 to 10 a.m. at the district central office, 411 North Gibson, and said the district will alternate in-person and video months for the series. "Our next in person first Friday focus is gonna be on Friday, February 6. We'll host that from 8 to 10AM in the central office at 411 North Gibson," she said.
McCutchen said committees are working on the 2026–27 Waxahachie ISD calendar and that the calendar is expected to be approved soon, but she did not specify an approval date. She also noted leadership changes at campus and central-office levels and said those personnel updates have been posted on the district's social media channels.
Because of possible winter weather in January and February, McCutchen reminded parents to sign up for ParentSquare to receive campus notifications; she advised families to contact their campus if they are not receiving alerts. McCutchen closed by thanking the community for a successful first semester and encouraging ongoing feedback through the district's established communication channels.
