Lighting project moves through INDOT environmental review; Avitec sewer 30% complete

Josh, representing JTL, told the Sellersburg Redevelopment Commission that the camper-and-lighting project remains in the environmental-review phase and that SJCA has submitted all required environmental documents to the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT); staff said the project is now awaiting INDOT’s approval.
Josh also said the Avitec sewer project is progressing: crews have installed about 1,400 feet of pipe out of a total 4,900 feet planned, which he described as roughly 30% complete despite winter construction conditions.
Town staff and consultants noted one of the commission-funded projects is already under construction and that the commission should continue to consider potential TIF-eligibility for future sound-barrier work. Commissioners asked about the Wawa development: staff said construction is moving along but did not provide an opening date.
The commission did not take any immediate action on these project items; staff will continue to monitor INDOT’s environmental review and report updates at future meetings.
