The McMinnville City Board met in its regular session and handled routine business, personnel updates and event logistics.
A public hearing on a proposed amendment to the FY 2025–26 budget was opened in accordance with TCA 6-56-206; no members of the public spoke and the hearing was closed. The board then moved the consent agenda, which included minutes from the Dec. 9 regular session; the motion passed following a roll-call-style vote. Recorded affirmative responses included Sally Brock, Deidra Dunlap, Steve Harvey, Rachel Kirby, Carrie Morton and Mary Chastain.
Under recognition of visitors, Jennifer Woods introduced herself as the new president of the Chamber of Commerce, thanked the city for its support and promoted the chamber’s quarterly luncheon, two upcoming ribbon cuttings and the new 2026 Warren County Chamber Magazine.
City staff provided routine reports. A staff member identified as Wendy summarized a quarterly report (Oct–Dec), announced a February working session for aldermen to review pilot agreements and scoring matrices, said bridal grant applications are in contracting, and described plans for a wage-and-benefits survey to begin in March with Middle Tennessee Industrial Development and MTSU.
In departmental recognition, the board noted that Heath Collins retired Dec. 18 after roughly 30 years of service; his position has been filled by Steven Pittsworth, who has been with the city about 24–25 years. The board also received an event update that Main Street will be closed from about 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. for the Martin Luther King Jr. Day event; attendees were asked to meet at the Bernard Gym parking lot at 9:30 a.m.
With no further business, the board adjourned.
