The County’s Labor and Civil Service committee reported a resolution proposing salary adjustments and position changes in the Schenectady County Attorney’s office. County Attorney Chris Gardner said the changes are intended to make attorney pay competitive with other county employers after recent staff losses — including one attorney who became a family court judge and two who took other county legal positions — and to ensure the office can continue child-protective-services and collective-bargaining work. "The pay increases which I am proposing help keep the county attorney's office fully staffed with excellent attorneys," Gardner said.
The committee moved the initiative to the agenda for future consideration; the item was reported and will appear on the legislature's agenda for further action.
