Lancaster council committees endorse several board appointments, forwards them to Jan. 13 meeting

During the personnel committee, Councilor Hirsch introduced an initial appointment of Connor Bell to the Lancaster Recreation Commission for a three-year term through Dec. 31, 2028; Bell was not present. Hirsch said the Rec Commission has a limited number of public seats and that Bell, a CPA, sought the position for his financial background. "So possibly we will hear from him at the next meeting," Hirsch said.
The committee also handled reappointments. Councilor Hirsch moved to reappoint Danielle Kepparling and John Spadillieri to the Historic Commission for three-year terms expiring Dec. 31, 2028; the motion was seconded and the committee voted in favor. The agenda listed Kurt Strauss to the Historic Commission but Hirsch noted the correct placement is the Historical Architectural Review Board and said that will be clarified in the resolution forwarded to council.
No committee members raised objections during the personnel discussion. The committee’s motions will appear on the Jan. 13 council agenda for formal adoption and any required oath or committee assignments.
The personnel committee concluded without final on-the-spot appointments; the council will consider and, if approved, swear in appointees at the full meeting.
