Council approves slate of appointments and reappointments across city boards and commissions
Summary
Council approved numerous appointments and reappointments to advisory boards and commissions, including the American Windmill Museum board, planning and urban boards, the library board and several TIF boards; one North Park TIF appointment required recusal and was approved separately.
City staff presented a long list of recommended appointments and reappointments Jan. 13 and the council approved the slate by voice vote.
Miss Paz briefed the council on nominations including Tillman Hurt to the American Windmill Museum board to replace Raquel Gonzalez; Henry Turango for a parks advisory citizen position; Dr. Duke Appiah to replace Brandon Bokin on the Board of Health; Clark Lambert in a developer/real estate builder position on the Capital Improvements Advisory Committee; reappointments to the Central Business District TIF board; reappointments and replacements across Civic Lubbock Inc., the Community Development and Services Board/Urban Renewal Agency, the cultural arts grants subcommittee, the Lubbock Housing Finance Corporation Board, the library board, multiple TIF reinvestment zone boards, the public transit advisory board, urban design and historic preservation commission, an archaeology/paleontology position, the veterans advisory committee and the Zoning Board of Adjustments.
Council voted to approve the overall slate. For the North Park Tax Increment Financing Reinvestment Zone board, Councilmember Glasheen recused himself; the council then approved reappointments of Kevin Glasheen, David Wilkerson and Randy Allen.
