Summary

The Sampson County Board of Commissioners recorded a series of procedural votes during its Jan. 5 meeting:
- Agenda amendment: Speaker 2 moved to remove agenda item 3 and continue it to next month's meeting; the motion was seconded and approved by the board.
- Consent agenda: A motion to approve the consent agenda was made and seconded; the board approved the consent agenda by voice/hand vote.
- Closed session: Speaker 2 moved the board enter closed session "in accordance with North Carolina General Statute 143‑318.11, section a, subsection 7" to discuss a legal matter; the motion was seconded and carried. The board later voted to come out of closed session and, subsequently, to adjourn.
The motions were procedural and did not, in themselves, adopt new ordinances or resolutions at the meeting; the removal of item 3 defers that agenda matter to a future session.
