The Alpharetta City Council authorized the submission of a FY2025 Bulletproof Vest Partnership grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice on Jan. 12.
Chief Lingard presented the request and estimated the annual cost for ballistic vests at $36,008.28, with the federal Bulletproof Vest Partnership grant providing approximately $18,000 in matching funds. He noted that the grants provide matching funds for equipment the department would otherwise purchase and that the application aligns with the department’s body‑worn protective equipment planning.
There were no public comments on the resolution and council approved the submission by motion.
