DPS staff said the purchase supports replacement of MXUs that are 20 years old and older and includes a focus on three‑quarter‑inch meters this year. Staff noted the city maintains about 33,000 meters of various sizes (domestic and larger commercial meters) and that purchases have fluctuated since COVID; the blanket order supports the meter division’s planned replacements.
The council approved the authorization by voice vote; the resolution conditions the award on executing an acceptable written agreement.
