Galloway Township board unanimously approves routine curriculum, finance, personnel and policy items; affirms HIB determinations

The Galloway Township Board of Education voted unanimously at its Jan. 8 meeting to approve a set of routine agenda items covering curriculum, finance and facilities, personnel and policy matters and to affirm an HIB (harassment, intimidation and bullying) determination.

Board members moved and seconded the grouped items — curriculum items 6.1–6.3, finance and facilities items 7.1–7.18, personnel items 8.1–8.5 and policy items 9.1–9.6 — and each block was approved by roll-call vote with all members present answering Yes. The board also approved old business item 10.1 to affirm the HIB determination reports as presented.

The votes were routine and required no extended discussion. The agenda materials listed the specific items and attachments for members’ review prior to the meeting; the board chair opened public comment on agenda items but no members of the public addressed those matters.

Board attorney Hauck Elko reported briefly on district legal work since the last meeting, characterizing recent activity as limited to student, personnel and contract matters; no legal action was taken at this meeting. The personnel section noted there were no new hires at this time.

The unanimous roll-call tallies indicate full board support of the agenda packages presented that evening; the board concluded with informational items and an events calendar before adjourning. The administration will implement approved items according to the timelines and attachments included in the agenda packet.
