The Cottonwood Heights City Council voted on two legislative items at its Oct. 21 business meeting and approved both measures after brief council discussion.
Ordinance 439 amends Title 19 of the city's code of ordinances as part of the October 2025 code-maintenance package. Council member Suzanne Hyland moved to approve the ordinance; Council member Sean Newell seconded. The council voted in favor with Hyland, Newell, Holton and Mayor Mike Wickers recorded as voting yes.
The council also approved Resolution 2025-69, authorizing a consulting agreement with GBS Benefits, Inc. The motion to approve the resolution was recorded in the transcript as made by "council member Holden" and seconded by Council member Hyland; the vote was recorded as yes by Newell, Holton, Hyland and the mayor.
Both items were described in the meeting as previously discussed during the work session and were presented on the consent/legislative calendar for straightforward approval. The meeting record did not include extensive debate, amendments or public testimony on either item.
Next procedural step: the city will incorporate ordinance changes into the municipal code and finalize the consulting agreement with GBS Benefits as authorized by the adopted resolution.
