The Lebanon City Council elected Councilmember Mike Kincaid as council president for 2026 and named Councilmember Robertson vice president during its Jan. 12 meeting.
Councilmembers nominated and approved the leadership by voice vote after the presiding officer opened nominations. The presiding officer noted the council will soon fill vacancies on several city boards and commissions and said a spreadsheet of expiring terms will be distributed to members for consideration.
The nominations and voice votes concluded without a recorded roll-call tally. After the president vote the presiding officer remarked, "Congratulations or condolences, Mike," and the council moved on to other agenda items. The council also discussed that board appointments to the Board of Zoning Appeals, Board of Works and the Planning Commission will be considered at an upcoming meeting.
No formal motions to change the council’s rules or responsibilities were made at the meeting; the leadership elections established who will preside in council sessions and help coordinate upcoming appointment work. The council adjourned its leadership business and proceeded to new business items on the agenda.
