Board approves committee assignments, adds members to opioid oversight and human services groups

The Eaton County Board approved committee appointments Jan. 5, 2026, including new members on an opioid settlement oversight committee and reassignments to the Eaton County Human Services Collaborative Council and Tri-County On Aging.
Following a brief recess for the Committee on Committees, the Eaton County Board of Commissioners reconvened Jan. 5 and presented committee assignments and board appointments. The report, included in commissioners’ materials, listed several changes highlighted in yellow; commissioners were given time to review.
Notable changes included the addition of commissioners to an opioid settlement oversight committee (Commissioners Shaver and Nicole Christiansen, plus the chair and Jane Whitaker), and reassignments to the Eaton County Human Services Collaborative Council (Nicole Christiansen replacing Keith Barber) and Tri-County On Aging (Nicole Christiansen taking Commissioner Hansen’s position). Commission representation on CATA ended after a millage decrease, and Commissioner Barber was removed from that assignment.
A motion to approve the committee appointments was moved by Commissioner Drosha and supported by Commissioner Toomey; no comments were offered and the motion carried.
