Megan Owen, executive director of the Halifax County Public Schools Education Foundation, presented the foundation’s FY 2024–25 investment summary: the foundation provided over $114,000 in targeted support across the division, covering teacher mini‑grants, STEM initiatives, classroom projects, high‑school athletics and post‑secondary scholarships.
Owen said the teacher mini‑grant total reflected $23,804 in initial awards adjusted by $1,402.26 in return funds. She noted the foundation lacked a director during much of the prior fiscal year and said she intends to build and grow the foundation’s contributions to the school system moving forward.
Board members thanked the foundation for its contributions and acknowledged the foundation’s role supporting classroom projects and student opportunities. Owen said the foundation will continue to develop partnerships and outreach to expand financial support for school programming.
