The East Haven Board of Education read into the minutes a letter from the state Bureau of Educator Standards and Certification confirming that Mr. Adam Sweeney may assume the duties of interim superintendent for East Haven Public Schools.

Speaker 1 read the correspondence, which identified the sender as Charlene Tucker of the Bureau and stated that certification records confirm Mr. Sweeney holds an initial educator certificate endorsed for superintendent of schools valid from Sept. 2, 2025, through Sept. 1, 2035. The letter said Mr. Sweeney may assume interim duties effective Sept. 15, 2025, and offered procedural guidance for certifying any out-of-state candidates for permanent appointment.

Board members congratulated Mr. Sweeney and the letter will be posted into the meeting minutes.
