The Douglas County Board of Commissioners voted Jan. 23 to grant a one-year extension for plat recordation of Sterling Ranch Filing 7B, moving the deadline to Jan. 28, 2027.
Brett Thomas of Community Development told the board the subdivision resolution allows the director to grant a one-year extension and that further extensions require board approval. "The applicant request a 1 year extension to the approval of filing 7 b until 01/28/2027," Thomas said during his presentation.
Chair (Speaker 3) opened the item for public comment and staff reported there were no in-person or online comments. Commissioner (Speaker 5) moved to approve the extension; Commissioner (Speaker 7) seconded the motion. Commissioners voiced no objections and the motion carried.
Staff noted the recordation extension would remain subject to the original ten conditions of approval for the subdivision. The board did not add further conditions, and staff said the director had already granted a one-year administrative extension through Jan. 28, 2026 before the board action.
The extension applies only to plat recordation and does not change the underlying conditions placed on the original approval. The board moved on to its next land-use agenda items after the vote.
