HIGLEY, Ariz. — The Higley Unified School District governing board reorganized leadership Tuesday in a series of internal votes.

Amanda Wade was elected board president after nominating herself; the motion carried 3–2. The board then elected Sarah Jarman as vice president by a 4–1 vote. Members recessed briefly afterward to rearrange seating.

Both officers will serve in those roles for the 2026 calendar year pending any future board action. The board also approved its consent agenda (items 5.1–5.11) unanimously.

Trustees used the reorganization discussion to note expectations for the president’s facilitation duties and for better communication with staff. Wade, who spoke at length about supporting district staff and the community’s role in future funding decisions, emphasized stewardship of district performance and personnel.
