The Hiram City Council approved two procurement awards at its Jan. 8 meeting for work at 150 Oak Street and 855 Hiram Douglasville Highway.
Staff told the council the funds for both projects had previously been allocated and the decisions before the body were vendor selection and contract assignment. For furniture, the council voted to award state-contract pricing to vendor Hahn for a total of $161,770.49.
For building renovations, staff described using the Gordian process and the Omnia cooperative; the council moved to award prime contractors via that contracting route at a base cost of $503,543.71, and approved a 10% contingency ($50,354.37) for a stated total of $553,898.08. Staff said the contractor’s intended start date was mid-to-late January.
The motions were made, seconded and called for voice votes; the transcript records no recorded opposition. The council noted that the funds had already been allocated in prior deliberations and that these votes assigned vendors and contractors under existing budgets.
