The VA Laredo outpatient clinic told the veterans committee it will expand its local CPAP clinic to weekly service and will no longer host an on-site podiatrist; podiatry care will be provided through vouchers and off-site providers, and two local audiologists were identified as voucher providers.
Crystal Cabillo, a representative of the VA Laredo outpatient clinic, briefed the committee on service changes and upcoming support activities.
Cabillo said the clinic will continue seasonal food drives (dates to be posted once confirmed) and asked veterans to respect scheduled lab appointments to reduce unscheduled walk-ins. She said the on-site podiatrist will no longer provide services at the clinic; instead, podiatry care will be available via vouchers and community providers (veterans may travel to Corpus Christi or Harlingen if they prefer off-site providers).
The clinic has expanded a CPAP clinic that initially saw veterans one day per month and then two days per month; Cabillo said the program will move to once a week locally (currently tentatively scheduled on Tuesdays) when staffing and slots are fully in place, which she estimated could take about 30 days.
Cabillo listed two local audiologists that accept vouchers — Casada and Pablo Trevino — and said she will post food-drive dates and clinic updates to the meeting chat and the clinic’s outreach channels.
Committee members requested a compiled list of local audiology providers and thanked the clinic for expanding local CPAP access.
