Dahlia Alvarez spoke at length about a personal property dispute in the Horizon area. Alvarez said that a neighboring property received approval and installation of a second septic system to serve three dwellings, while she was later told by county environmental/public works staff that she must remove one of two dwellings on a parcel she owns. Alvarez said she had attended multiple meetings and hearings and had been told different requirements at different times. She asked the court where the new rules were written and why neighboring properties were treated differently.
County staff (Michelle/Melina recorded in the transcript) said they would collect Alvarez’s contact information, review her case with Public Works, and follow up directly to clarify the permitting history and any regulatory differences. Judge and commissioners directed staff to follow up and obtain documentation for the resident. No formal action was taken during the meeting beyond the commitment to investigate and report back.
