Resident urges action on stalled McCook RFP, says veterans remain homeless in Spring Grove

"A lot of those people in that encampment ... they are homeless veterans," Hatcher said, urging the council to press the mayor or other officials to move forward so McCook can provide first-floor medical services and veteran housing on upper floors.
Hatcher also raised cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) issues for retired city employees and urged approval of pending firefighter contracts. She asked the council to prioritize converting McCook to serve veterans and to address stalled development projects that leave properties half finished.
Next steps: Hatcher asked council members to follow up with the mayor's office or relevant departments to clarify the status of the McCook RFP and any barriers to implementation.
