District lays out strategic plan progress, Panorama rollout and new website launch
Erie City SD Committee of the Whole · January 8, 2026
Summary
Administrators updated the board on strategic plan development (1,829 survey responses, 1,263 high‑school respondents), Panorama implementation with phase‑5 professional learning, and the long‑awaited eesd.org website relaunch with ADA monitoring and new stakeholder features.
Miss Gateway briefed the Committee on the district’s strategic plan development and Panorama implementation and Miss Irwin introduced the new district website.
Gateway said the strategic plan process is in phase 3 moving into phase 4, with a steering committee of about 58 members and 1,829 survey responses including 1,263 high school students (about 41% of that population). The plan will guide academic, operational and financial decisions and staff will present a final draft for board approval in March. Gateway said a strategic‑plan dashboard is live and that the district and K‑12 Coalition are coordinating stakeholder focus groups and upcoming board work sessions.
On Panorama—part of the district’s data management strategy—administration reported phase‑5 rollout with professional learning already launched in December, additional stakeholder trainings scheduled in January, and a two‑year contract extension on the agenda for the next regular meeting. Brockman (and Gateway) said the two‑year Panorama investment totals $345,000 and includes professional learning meant to ensure fidelity of use across schools.
Miss Irwin then presented the new eesd.org site developed with vendor App2G: a modernized homepage with hero images, a live feed tied to social media and unified school pages. She highlighted translation functionality (Google Translate), ADA monitoring, and plans for incremental updates and staff training. Board members raised UX and mobile presentation concerns; Irwin said mobile presentation and order of floating links will be refined and IT is doubling internal bandwidth to accommodate a future public launch and traffic growth.
The board applauded broad stakeholder engagement in the strategic‑plan process. The Panorama contract extension and final strategic plan presentation will be scheduled for upcoming board action.
