The Tulare County Resource Management Agency presented its 2026 staff calendar to the Board of Supervisors on Jan. 13, describing a creative approach that used artificial‑intelligence image prompts to produce a month‑by‑month staff and outreach calendar.
"We wanted to leverage the year of the AI," said Alida Verduzco Silva, economic development manager for RMA, who led the presentation and described a cross‑agency effort to test multiple AI tools, including ChatGPT, Copilot, Google Gemini and Adobe Firefly. The calendar pairs one AI prompt per month with staff and field teams and includes QR codes to help residents access RMA services online.
Examples shown to the board included a January image of RMA directors in a sequoia ballpark, a planning division 'alpaca' theme for permit center staff, a Public Works sign crew rendered on a marquee for May, and a July treatment of the permit center as part of a farm‑to‑market concept. RMA staff said the creative prompts were paired with manual graphic design work (Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva) to correct AI inconsistencies and produce print‑ready postcards.
Alida Verduzco Silva told the board the agency followed internal guidance for AI use, worked from staff headshots on the county website to create consistent likenesses, and tested outputs to avoid hallucinations. "We were compliant and aligned with every way which we were allowed to work with AI," she said when asked how staff images were produced.
Board members said the calendar is a useful outreach and internal‑engagement tool. Supervisor Pete Vanderpool called the project "a great thing" and noted the calendar will help residents find county services quickly through QR codes. RMA staff said a larger print run is being produced by a local vendor and that copies will be distributed to staff and stakeholders.
The presentation is informational; no board action was required.
