Henderson County approves fiber-optic right-of-way agreements in Timber Bay and Cherokee Shores

HENDERSON COUNTY — Commissioners unanimously approved right-of-way agreements allowing Bridal Speed to install fiber-optic lines along multiple subdivision roads in Timber Bay, Cherokee Shores and Cedar Branch Park.
Commissioner Tooley described precise segments and footage for the Timber Bay work and moved to approve the right-of-way and utility-line activity for Bridal Speed with commissioner authorization to sign; the motion passed unanimously. Tooley then read an extended list of roads in Cherokee Shores and Cedar Branch Park proposed for aerial fiber installation, including segment footage totals for each road. The court approved those agreements by motion as presented.
During the Cherokee Shores discussion Tooley cited contractor progress estimates, saying the contractor believed Precinct 2 work was “somewhere between 70. to 80% complete” and noted an internal target of Oct. 1 for finishing Precinct 2 work. Commissioners discussed deadlines and checkpoint meetings added in prior amendments to the contract; they also noted some subdivision roads on the original poster are not county roads and therefore not part of this approval.
Commissioner McCam seconded motions in the Timber Bay item and the Cherokee Shores approvals; all fiber-rights motions passed unanimously. The court’s approvals authorize county commissioners to sign the agreements on behalf of the county.
