Board unanimously approves Hathaway Group marketing agreement, routine consent items and extends superintendent's contract

The Jacksonville North Pulaski School District board on Monday approved three notable administrative actions: awarding a marketing agreement for district property to the Hathaway Group, passing routine consent items and extending the superintendent's contract.

During the superintendent's report, board members were presented with two proposals for marketing and brokerage services for a district-owned parcel on Gregory (the former Warren DuPree site). A board member moved and a second was made to enter into an agreement with the Hathaway Group; the motion passed unanimously after a short voice vote.

The board also approved the consent agenda — which included minutes and the assistant superintendent's and financial reports — by voice vote with no opposition.

After returning from executive session on personnel matters, the board considered personnel recommendations and separately approved a motion to extend the superintendent's contract by one additional year to the maximum allowable three-year term; that motion also passed unanimously.

The superintendent told the board the district has begun revising crisis-management plans and drafting a training manual for staff, parents and volunteers and asked the board to schedule a workshop to review those materials. A workshop date in the coming two weeks was discussed.

Next steps: administration will finalize contract paperwork with the Hathaway Group and present updated crisis-management and training materials at the scheduled workshop. No public votes on parental-notification policy occurred at this meeting.
