Durant, Okla. — The Durant City Council approved a conditional-use permit Jan. 13 to allow the storage of gasoline and diesel at a site on North 1st Avenue.
City staff said the site currently has three propane tanks; the applicant plans to add three tanks for gasoline and diesel. Planning Commission recommended approval 4–1. Jason Robinson, speaking for the property owner/operator (identified on the transcript as McCraw), told council the new installation will use bottom-load fueling equipment, full vapor recovery and inventory-management controls, and will be reviewed by the Fire Marshal and other regulatory agencies before final approval.
Council approved the conditional-use permit by roll-call vote with all present voting yes. Staff and the applicant said the operation will be subject to state and federal licensing and Fire Marshal review as part of the building- and site-permit process.
