The Florence Unified School District governing board elected Roger Beatty to serve as board president for 2026 and selected Ms. Leggett as vice president, the board announced at its Jan. 13 regular meeting.

The board opened nominations during the reorganization portion of the meeting. An unnamed board member nominated Beatty; the motion was seconded and carried 4-0. Beatty accepted the position. Later in the reorganization, a board member nominated Ms. Leggett as vice president; that nomination also was seconded and approved by a unanimous vote.

The board also set the calendar for 2026 regular meetings. The governing board approved a motion to hold regular meetings on the second Tuesday of each month, with work study sessions beginning at 5:00 p.m. and the board meeting at 6:00 p.m. The Florence Unified School District Administration Building and the district website (www.fusdaz.org) were designated as the official posting places for agendas.

Board actions on reorganization and scheduling were procedural and passed without recorded dissent. The appointments and schedule take effect for the 2026 calendar year.
