Ada County commissioners on Jan. 9 adopted a proclamation designating Jan. 25–31, 2026, as Coroner and Death Investigation Professionals Week.

The proclamation notes the Ada County Coroner's Office employs death‑investigation professionals who investigate suspicious, violent, unintended and unexplained deaths and provide services across the region. The document says the office provides pathological services to more than 30 of Idaho’s 44 counties and seeks to meet national standards for death investigations.

Representatives from the coroner's office attended the meeting to receive the proclamation; an office representative thanked the board and said the recognition is humbling for staff. Commissioners approved the proclamation by voice vote and invited the coroner's office staff forward for a photo and presentation of the document.
