At its Jan. 13 meeting the Placerville City Council approved several personnel and routine administrative items.
Salary schedule: Interim Finance Director Natalie Tornicasa presented a retroactive salary schedule effective Jan. 3, 2026 that implements negotiated memoranda of understanding with International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 39, the Placerville Police Officers Association (PPOA), and adjustments for unrepresented units based on a compensation study. The COLA for Local 39 was reported at 2.69% (San Francisco‑Oakland‑San Jose CPI), with additional market adjustments producing position adjustments that ranged by classification; staff estimated the total projected cost at $133,878, which was included in the adopted budget. The council voted to retroactively approve and affirm the salary schedule.
Youth sports officials: Staff recommended and the council approved an agreement with Sierra West Officials Association to provide officiating services for the city’s youth basketball and youth flag football leagues; no budget change was reported.
Council leadership: The council nominated and voted to appoint Vice Mayor Nicole Gopard as mayor and Jackie Noe as vice mayor during the meeting’s internal reorganization votes.
Procedural note: these items were passed by roll call vote and are routine approvals of negotiated contracts, personnel schedules and internal leadership roles.
