Seattle council adopts committee-structure resolutions, approves membership changes

The council adopted resolutions 32188–32190 to designate pro tems, set committee structure and regional participation; it approved a late amendment changing several committee assignments (Juarez replaced by Rivera on PSRC board; Kettle added as alternate and to international affairs advisory board).
The Seattle City Council adopted three related resolutions (32188, 32189, 32190) during its Jan. 6 meeting. Resolution 32188 designated the monthly pro tem for 2026–2027. Resolution 32189 set committee structure, membership, meeting times and duties, superseding prior resolution 32162. Resolution 32190 addressed participation on King County and regional committees and superseded resolution 32178.
Council suspended rules to consider a 24-hour-late amendment to resolution 32190 that changed membership: "we're going to delete council member Juarez and insert council member Rivera" on the PSRC Growth Management Policy Board; for the King County Regional Homelessness Authority Governing Committee the alternate was changed (delete Juarez, insert Kettle); and Kettle was added to the Seattle International Affairs Advisory Board. The amendment was seconded, adopted, and the resolution as amended was adopted by unanimous roll-call votes across the three resolutions (each recorded 9-0). The chair signed the adopted resolutions.
Council also amended the introduction/referral calendar to introduce 32188–32190 for consideration at this meeting and adopted that calendar as amended.
