Council approves consent calendar, 2026 holiday schedule and Adopt‑A‑Highway amendment

The Paramount City Council approved a set of routine actions in a single meeting, including the consent calendar, the 2026 special and holiday events schedule, and an amendment to the city’s Adopt A Highway maintenance agreement.

The council approved the consent calendar (items 1–15) by unanimous roll call; Council members Aguayo, Delgadillo, Craig Stallings, Vice Mayor Olmos and Mayor Lemons recorded 'Yes.'

The council also unanimously approved the proposed 2026 special and holiday events calendar, which includes Friday Night Paramount, a summer concert series with a Juneteenth event, a Heritage Festival, the Santa train and Snowfest. Staff said moving the first December council meeting to Dec. 15 will avoid conflicts with tree lighting and other winter events.

Finally, the council approved Amendment No. 4 to the agreement with Adopt A Highway Maintenance Corporation. Public works director Adrianna Figueroa said the amendment adds cleaning frequency on specified ramps and frontage roads, extends the contract term to Dec. 31, 2027, and reflects a vendor rate adjustment that increases monthly costs by about $223 to a new monthly rate of $6,339.27. Staff told the council FY26 budgeted funds are available to cover the increase.
