WELLINGTON — At the annual landowners meeting of the Acme Improvement District held immediately after the Wellington Council session on Jan. 12, 2026, attendees approved a motion to have the mayor preside over the district meeting for the session.
The Clerk read the legally required notice, which stated the meeting followed the Wellington Council meeting scheduled for about 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, 2026, at Wellington Village Hall, 12300 Forest Hill Boulevard, and noted the notice was published Dec. 30, 2025, and Jan. 6, 2026. After roll call — Mayor Napoleone; Vice Mayor Tanya Siskin; Councilman John McGovern; Councilwoman Maria Antunia; and Councilwoman Amanda Silvestri — the facilitator said the primary agenda item was to select a chairperson.
An attendee moved, "I'll move that we make the mayor the chairperson." The Clerk seconded the motion. The motion was approved by voice vote — "Aye" with no one opposing. A facilitator clarified the action did not appoint any board members, saying the mayor's "role is only to chair the meeting." The record shows the meeting then proceeded with no landowner comments on the sign-in sheet and was adjourned.
The action was procedural: the meeting's participants agreed that Mayor Napoleone would preside over this session. The record of the meeting, including the published notice and the roll call, was placed into the file. With no public comment, the meeting concluded and adjourned the same evening.
