Planning Commission approves routine business, schedules next meetings and welcomes council alternate

The Cannon Falls Planning Commission opened its Jan. 12 meeting with roll call, approved the meeting agenda and accepted the minutes from its previous meeting by voice votes.
The commission noted that the next City Council meeting is Jan. 20 and that the next Planning Commission meeting is scheduled for Feb. 9. Commissioners discussed placing a fair board ordinance item on the next planning agenda and arrangement of meeting dates for that item.
Chair remarks included an official welcome to Chad Johnson, who the meeting record identifies as the City Council’s alternate member to the Planning Commission while the commission has an open seat. The chair said the alternate may serve until the vacancy is filled and encouraged citizen applications at City Hall.
The meeting adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
