Sioux Falls resident asks board for clarity after grandson suspended from bus service

Kennison said a principal later informed the family the child could not participate in sports because of the suspension.
"I have a grandson who was suspended from school district bus transportation...he was suspended from bus transportation," Kennison told the board, adding she had difficulty locating a discipline policy on the district website and was seeking an explanation of the specific consequences in this case. Kennison said her grandson has ADHD and that family circumstances make the loss of bus transportation a significant hardship.
The board chair thanked Kennison and said someone would respond to her questions. The board did not take immediate action on the matter during the meeting; the comment was recorded under non‑agenda public comment and the chair indicated the district would follow up.
