Waverly Senior Center asks Bremer County for $4,000 to cover rising insurance costs

Campbell and Abram said the center's insurance rose to about $5,200 last year and that they are seeking county support to keep programs affordable and to explore group transportation options, including partnerships or reduced‑rate arrangements for residents without reliable rides. Supervisors suggested exploring group-rate transportation and coordinating with chamber and other local partners.
Board members thanked the senior‑center leaders and said staff would include the request in the nonprofit funding and budget conversations; no formal appropriation was recorded during the session.

The $4,000 request will be considered as part of the county's normal budget process and supplemental nonprofit‑fund requests during upcoming meetings.
