The Public Health, Safety and Transportation Committee unanimously approved a resolution related to AMAS Corporation’s application for a full‑service Class B on‑site consumption liquor license for a restaurant at 749 North Lake Street in Ward 6.
Deputy City Clerk Socorro Flores introduced the application and said Stephanie Perez would represent the applicant. Perez said she is the majority owner and described restaurant experience she brings from a family business operating since 2008, including the Antojito Seca location in an East Side flea market. She told the committee the Lake Street location will serve typical Mexican food as a sit‑down restaurant with carryout and delivery options and estimated hours in the late morning through evening (roughly 10 a.m. to 9–10 p.m.).
Committee members asked whether the business would retain the previous name; Perez said it would operate under AMAS rather than the former Pippes name. After discussion, Alderman Seville moved to approve the resolution; Alderman Smith seconded. The committee recorded a 5–0 vote in favor.
The committee’s action authorizes the local step in granting the license application; committee members and staff did not record additional conditions during the meeting.
