The council reviewed the quarterly appropriation that supports Revere TV. City finance official Rich explained the revenues come from local-access cable fees and that the city receives the fees and forwards them to Revere TV, which maintains its own accounting and audits.
"It's basically a zero balance account," Rich said. "We get the money in the account, we get it, and then we send it out." Councilors asked whether the amount is adequate to maintain the station and whether the city audits the station's spending; Rich said the station does its own accounting and audits and that finance can follow up or defer to the station's treasurer (Mister Dunbar) for details.
Council accepted the communication and placed the appropriation on file; the finance office offered to provide more detail if requested.
