Councilwoman Laura Bastotte outlined several affordable-housing developments in Phoenix’s District 4 during a year-end address, naming Acacia Heights 2, Osborne Point and La Esperanza Terrace as completed projects and noting the groundbreaking of Wild Rose Platts.
"In February, we celebrated the grand opening of Acacia Heights 2, bringing 66 new affordable and workforce housing units to District 4," Bastotte said. She also announced the opening of Osborne Point, which she described as "48 units of supportive housing for veterans and adults age 55 and older," and La Esperanza Terrace, a 96-unit affordable housing project enabled by a land sale from the Isaac Elementary School District.
Bastotte said she "was proud to advocate for $2,000,000 in funding to support" Osborne Point, which provides on-site services and proximity to transit and veteran health resources. She also noted Wild Rose Platts has broken ground as a new affordable housing community using land sold by Isaac School District.
Taken together, the projects cited in the address account for at least 210 housing units stated on the record. Funding sources and long-term operating details were not specified in the address beyond the $2,000,000 figure mentioned for Osborne Point.
Next steps and oversight for these projects were not part of the address; further details on funding sources, timelines and property managers would need confirmation from city housing staff or project partners.
