Kernersville amends nuisance code to explicitly list graffiti as a nuisance

Catherine Garner, speaking for town staff, said the revision clarifies how the town will work with property owners to remedy graffiti and what steps follow if it is not abated. Garner told the board the issue has appeared at various places across town and that staff have generally had good cooperation from property owners to date.
The mayor called for a motion to adopt the ordinance amendment; the motion was made, seconded and the board voted unanimously to adopt the change.
Staff did not provide additional enforcement details at the meeting beyond the general process described; the ordinance amendment was presented as an update to give clearer authority and a predictable procedure for remediation.
