Kentwood accepts DNR grants for Lambert’s Trail acquisition and Rondo Station improvements

Rondo Station: Staff presented Part B of a Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) development project agreement for Rondo Station in the amount of $300,000. Staff said the award is a 50% matching grant and that the city is on target to start work in the spring. The commission approved acceptance of the MNRTF funds and the related appropriation.
Both motions were approved on roll call. Staff and commissioners noted that the grants require matching and that project schedules will follow grant compliance steps. No project-specific construction schedules or match sources beyond general appropriations were detailed on the record during the meeting.
