McHenry County Board of Health approves MOUs to expand mobile-clinic services at schools and libraries

The McHenry County Board of Health approved a series of memoranda of understanding Jan. 12 to expand the department’s mobile-clinic outreach to schools, libraries and Head Start partners.
Board members voted to approve an MOU with Huntley Community School District 158 to provide wellness screenings at a district health fair; staff noted a date error on the initial draft and provided a corrected 2026 copy. The board approved a separate MOU to pilot WIC ‘on the go’ at the Crystal Lake Public Library and said the department will evaluate expanding the service to additional communities. A third MOU with the community action agency was approved to satisfy Head Start work-plan requirements and formalize reciprocal referrals. Finally, an MOU with the Woodstock Public Library will allow monthly wellness screenings using the mobile clinic.
Staff emphasized that the agreements require no additional county funding and are intended to increase access in communities that rely on public-facing institutions; the approvals were made mostly by voice vote. The mobile-clinic arrangements are operational next steps intended to leverage existing staff, mobile-clinic assets and partnerships with local providers and libraries.
